Why I returned home to Escanaba

Comments Re: Francis X. Donnelly’s June 25 report, “Town in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula celebrates birthday, harkens back to better times”: I am a resident of Escanaba, who returned to our beautiful community after living and working for several years in Green Bay, Wis. I was accused at that point of being “crazy” for wanting to live in such a “depressed” area that had no opportunities for young people or families. It even went so far as someone telling me that I obviously had no concern for the welfare of my children if I moved back to the Escanaba area.
